I love helping couples be themselves,

It brings me joy when a wedding film becomes a treasured time capsule & it truly reflects their personality and unique love-story.

Knowing that your memories will be once-in-a-lifetime, my mission is to help you and your significant other feel comfortable and be your true selves.

Whether you are having an intimate wedding in a backyard or on a mountain top, I’m ready with my camera. All my focus is on you. I'll do my absolute best to capture the memories in a way that etches them into stone. Hopefully it can bring a peace of mind that if you ever start forgetting how special that day was, you can re-watch your film and the memories will come flooding back again.

Why I love what I do
How I got good at what I do

I've been shooting and editing documentaries, commercial and  promotional videos for 10+ years. I graduated from University of Northwestern - St. Paul in 2016 with a B.S. in Film & Media Communications. I also attended Los Angeles Film Studies Center where I began interning with PBS Kids where I read a million screenplays and helped revise episodes for the kids series Ready, Jet, Go!

With a growing fascination to shoot more of my own projects, I worked on dozens of nature & anthropologically focused  documentaries across 20 different countries. Some of my highlight experiences were teaming up with U.N. Foundation & Disney Conservation Fund in Brazil's Amazon rainforest, living with the Aché tribe in Paraguay, and diving the Mesoamerican Reef chain in Mexico.

Along the way, I've worked as a music producer & singer-songwriter. I've partnered with Jack Daniels Co. creating live music show experiences in São Paulo, Brazil. I've also worked as a music producer for Artlist.io, a website that creates royalty free music for a subscriber base of 10 million people. These experiences have heavily shaped my video editing because so much of video relies on audio engineering, sound design, and soundtrack composition.

I started getting into wedding videography after a few of my cousins asked me to shoot their weddings. I discovered I really enjoy how intimate the feeling of these films are. The ultimate goal is to help two people experience the fullest joy of their wedding celebration when they watch it. Having heard so much positive feedback from the couples I've served is an honor and I can only imagine how special my films will be for them in the years to come.

Matt Abeler is a wedding videographer based in Minnesota. His style of wedding videos is characterized by realistic, gentle movement and a subtle touch of 1970's era soft film textures. With an extensive background in music production, his wedding videos show attention to detail in the sound design. He's created original soundtracks, found obscure covers, and remixed songs to help the music best fit the personality of the couple.
